case study: The case is being closed INVALID. The agency received a report on 9/16/16 for neglect/shelter-inadequate and neglect/ lack of supervision. The perpetrator is Melody Salter. The victims are Alexis Salter(7) and Kammi Salter (3). It was reported that the travel trailer that the family is residing in is covered with black mold inside and it is making the children sick. The home has no running water and no sewage. The family is using trash bags to dispose of their feces. It was also reported that the mother’s drug use has continue to get worse. Melody is abusing pain pills that she is buying off the streets and the ones she gets from the doctor. During the investigation, the worker made contact with all parties involved and found……

Worker took Melody to Livingston Substance Abuse for a random drug screening. Melody was positive for marijuana, morphine/opiates, and oxycodone. The worker advised Melody to sign up for an evaluation today and she complied.
