Hi there,
I'm working on database management homework and I'm having the issue on several of the questions... I'll start with one of them because hopefully once one is answered, all the rest will make sense.Â
I'm asked to ensure 'CustomerNum' is a foreign key in the 'Reservation' table. When running the following query:Â
ALTER TABLE Reservation
ADD FOREIGN KEY (CustomerNum)
REFERENCES Customer(CustomerNum);
I'm given an error report of ORA-02275: such a referential constraint already exists in the table.
So I tried dropping the constraint with the following:
ALTER TABLE Reservation
DROP CONSTRAINT CustomerNum;
Which gives me an error report of ORA-02443: Cannot drop constraint - nonexistent constraint.
I found something 'StackOverflow' that talked about possible indexes being named the same and interfering with the commands, but I don't see any indexes with the same names.Â
I have five of these problems that are all giving me the same errors. If I need to give more information or send along the code or anything let me know. I'm in Oracle.
I appreciate any help you can offer.
Manda
