The Scientific Revolution and the Enlightenment, writing homework help

Question description

The Scientific Revolution and the Enlightenment marked a major change in Western thought. Scientists, like Sir Isaac Newton and Charles Darwin, redefined our conceptions of the Universe and life on Earth while political philosophers, like John Locke and Karl Marx, changed the way society and government was viewed.

Explain how Newton’s Principia or Charles Darwin’s Origin of Species and Locke’s Second Treatise on Government or Marx’s Communist Manifesto challenged the conventional wisdom of their time and changed how people thought. Use Gombrich’s A Little History of the World to put the two works in their historical contexts.

You must choose scientific work (Darwin or Newton) and 1 political work (Locke or Marx).
