Kentucky Permit Assignment

You are a new project Manager Trainee for a large construction company and have been given an assignment to research the necessary permits you will have to have for a construction project located on the vacant lot between theSave- A- lot Grocery Store and Triplett Creek fronting on State Route 519.

In your research:

  1. Identify the governmental jurisdiction in which the subject property is located and if any Planning and Zoning issues apply.

 

 

  1. Determine if the subject property is in a FEMA flood zone. If so, obtain a copy of the FIRM, determine the BFEand zone.
  1. Locate and obtain a copy the highway right-of- way plans for the subject property from the KY Transportation web page. Highlight the subject property
  1. Obtain a copy of an entrance permit form for a commercial entrance from the KY Transportation web page.
  1. The site is larger than one acre and therefore also obtain permit forms from the KY EPA, Division of Water for constructing a long a stream and a storm Water Permit.
  1. Prepare a report detailing the permit process to be utilized by your company as an outline of tasks (permits) or regulations which must be followed prior to the begin of construction.
