1. Actively transcribed genes are found in the euchromatic regions of DNA. Explain

In the following experiment, researchers isolated rat liver nuclei and then treated them with a chemical which activates the transcription of a particular gene of interest for various times (0-30 min). They then treated these nuclei with an enzyme that cuts DNA (DNAseI). They were then run out on an agarose gel. The ladder in the middle demonstrates the different sizes of DNA fragments generated.
