A CSI lab tech

A CSI lab tech has just completed as series of Kastle-Meyer tests on 3 red stains on a suspect's shirt and compared them to her positive and negative controls. For sample 1 the pink color appeared after 5 minutes after hydrogen peroxide was added. For sample 2 and 3 the pink appeared immediately after hydrogen peroxide was added. Please answer the following questions:

A) What is the result for each? How do you know? 

B) Why did the lab tech need to run a positive and negative control? What else would she need to do to ensure that all tests and procedures were being done correctly and the results are reliable?   

C) After running the Kastle Meyer test the lab tech ran the 3 sample through gel electrophoresis. Bands appeared for sample 3 but there were no bands for sample 1 and 2. Explain what could have happened in each case.
