Extrinsic individuals, week 3 disc 34 help

Question description

Please do a paragraph about this post with this instruction .

post most have 4 or more sentences .

you also have to have a high quality post from a content perspective. This means it also needs to do more than agree with or praise a class mate. If you agree with a classmate, explain why, give an example, share what you learned in the readings

Each of us are motivated in different ways by many different things.

Intrinsic individuals are motivated from within, they have desires to achieve things and see the potential in working hard. These people are driven by their own internal rewards, they are sincere, and they find meaning in their work. They are competent and do things because they enjoy doing it, things like working, painting, reading, etc.

Extrinsic individuals are motivated by external sources and outside influences. They often are inspired to do things out of not wanting to get in trouble or in order to obtain some type of reward or personal gain. Examples. they study to get a good grade, they clean their room to avoid punishment or they do a good deed for recognition or benefit. These are the folks that you can get to stop something by offering them something in return, bribe them with reimbursement.

Motivating an individual that is intrinsic would include: finding what they are passionate about and what drives them? I would detremine what drives them and offer them that task, a task we know that a motivated person will do well at. Example- a person that loves nursing, having them interview a group of retired nurses from variuos backgrounds and expereince levels, to determine their feelings on what being a nurse means to them?

To motivate an extrinsic individual, I would determine what kind of things motivate them...money, recognition, success? I would have them do a task and then offer a discount or a bonus to ensure they would succeed and be motivated to perform the given task. Having them speak at a class for diabetic patients on how to live with such a disease and then offer them a discount at a local restaurant or movie theater.

People are driven and motivated by so many things that we have to determine what those motivators are in order for them to acomplish tasks no matter what type of work we do. A performance driven team is a team composed of people that are diverse, are good communicators, have goals set for themselves, have certain expectations, and those that have trust, are trustworthy and have ownership. These are the types of qualities leaders should have, so that when they come together each in their own way can handle challenges, make change and be productive within our workplaces. They do not need to be designated leaders, they just need to possess these characteristics in order to bring positivity to others and their organization.
