Interview an administrator within your organization that works with the annual budget. This might be a school principal, assistant principal, financial officer, or someone from the central office. A list of suggested questions is provided below. Summarize the interview in a written report (2-3 pages double-spaced), which includes a list of questions and responses as well as a one-paragraph reflection about the interview process and what was learned about school finance during the interview.

·      What is the snapshot day?

·      What special programs (such as Title 1) get federal funds for education? What restrictions guide how these funds are spent?

·      What percentage of the budget comes from federal funding?

·      Are you considering program cuts, employee compensation reduction, and/or a reduction in the number of employees for the 2016-2017 school year?

·      Do you foresee the need for a tax increase or bond referendum?

·      Have you found any creative ways to balance the budget?

·      How is the budget articulated to and shared with all stakeholders?
