Odysseus is a hero

Odysseus is a hero, because he is loyal, clever and brave as his actions in the following
adventure prove.
1) Odysseus shows his loyal in book V. He tells Calypso that he loves his wife even if there
is no comparison between Penelope and Calypso, as seen in this quote:
Odysseus states that “For all her virtues, would pale beside you. She’s only human, and
you are a goddess, Eternally young. Still, I want to go back” (Homer 235).
2) Odysseus shows how he is clever in book IX. Instead of telling the Cyclops his real
name when Polyphemus asks he says:
Odysseus states it clearly: “Noman is my name. They call me Noman. My mother, my
father, and all my friends, too” (Homer 279).
3) Odysseus shows his bravery ways in book X. Instead of leaving the island without his
crew when Eurylochus urges Odysseus to not go to Circe’s house he says:
“All right, Eurylochus, you stay here by the ship. Get yourself something to eat and
drink. I’m going, though. We’re in a really tight spot” (Homer 289).
