Prepare a concise 5 page policy analysis paper. Please remember that this is a policy analysis paper and is not an opinion paper, so be sure to stay in third person and use appropriate research to conduct your analysis. Also, be sure to use specific research and analysis when making your recommendations. Use an appropriate analysis model to assist you in your analysis. Your recommendations should flow naturally from your research and analysis. Be sure to use an appropriate analysis model.

 

Be sure to include the following:

• Cover Page and separate Reference Page using APA 6th edition for citing sources. These pages do not count toward your page limit. Your may also use an Appendix page if needed especially if using large charts and graphs. Be sure to double space your paper using 1" margins, and use a footer with your name and date. Watch out for typos and punctuation, and be sure to use complete sentences.
• Executive Summary- Brief summary of the policy. Be sure to include an overview of your recommendations in this section.
• Policy Background- Brief background of the policy. Be sure to include the context and importance of the policy. Include any special interest groups of stakeholders in this section. You might want to include a short history of the policy.
• Policy Implications- In this section using outside research, students will analyze and critique the policy using an appropriate analysis model to include; pro/con, strength/weakness, compare/contrast, SWOT, among others. This section and the recommendations should be the most detailed and longest section of the policy brief.
• Recommendations- Be sure to base recommendations on specific research and analysis. Also, consider the impact of your policy recommendations, use of resources, how will you measure success, etc.     
• Be sure to cite all your sources and if you use charts and graphs be sure to cite your source just below the chart or graph.
• Please use correct grammar as well as make sure the paper makes sense
