Instructions about magazine project are detailed below. Please submit project by Sunday at 11:59pm.
Each student will prepare a magazine focusing on selected topics relevant to the issue of violent crime. This project will assist in thinking critically and creatively and will enhance written work. Students will select the major theme of the magazine from the list below. These topics will be researched and written in a magazine format. Students will also decide issues of design (columns, graphics, art, photos, etc.).

The magazine should be given an interesting title and include a table of contents, an introduction explaining the theme and the contents (minimum Two pages), 2 short researched articles (minimum THREE pages each), comprising a total of SIX pages double spaced, and a conclusion (minimum TWO pages or five hundred words) and references. The magazine will therefore comprise a total of TEN pages minimum. one will not be penalized if your articles are longer than the required number of words and if one adds images and web pages this may in fact be the case. Design the magazine any way desired. Be creative! You will need to decide how the cover will look, the table of contents, and the organization of articles and visual materials. Each magazine should also contain five questions at the end of their magazine for others to consider.
The magazine must be typed, double-spaced or 1 1/2, APA format (no abstract or running header required). Use a maximum of twelve point font size and one inch margins all around. Those who do not follow this style will lose points. There is no penalty for exceeding the minimum length requirement. Make use of at least five library scholarly books and articles, and if wished also one in addition limited but credible internet sources. the arguments should not be based primarily on internet or magazine article sources. Avoid magazine sources altogether unless there is an example of the research discussed. You must use citations whenever referring to someone else's ideas even if it is not a direct quote and should be referring to research frequently.
