This semester has blown by and although I am taking a total of 10
credits this class has by far been my favorite. To be honest I went into
this class thinking Jazz was a boring genre of music, could not have
been more wrong. I would say the swing era and the research project
was my breaking point. I have discovered new music and have found
my personal connection to Jazz. I would have to say Cool Jazz is what
most appealed to me, It is now something I actually listen to it on a
weekly and daily basis. I have fount it to be extremely enjoyable and
calming and it is something I have been able to incorporate in my
everyday life while cooking or doing my homework. I am thankful for
having the opportunity to develop an understanding as well as an
appreciation for Jazz.
I have posted a Jazz mix that I found very enjoyable for doing
homework, I would like your opinions on this mix! I know it is hard to
relate some parts of this mix to tunes and other subcategories we
were exposed to in this class. I also would like to pose a question do
you think that modern electronic Jazz is a subculture in itself.

This is extremely special, I have no idea how other people believe. I
don't love jazz, there is too much to love. I love personal works of
music. I can't predict which I will love and which I won't. Music is an
emotional thing. It's all over the place the beats the sounds, eclectic in
sound.. Growing up in New Orkeans it's inbred in our culture.
