The founding fathers of the United States established the Electoral College as a compromise between the election of the President by a vote in Congress and the election of the President by a popular vote of qualified citizens.
One unfortunate result of this process is that the President can be elected without winning the popular vote. To some this seems unfair, but the issue is complex. In a popular vote, the cities and states in which the country’s population is concentrated would strongly influence election outcome, and candidates would have little reason to campaign outside those regions.
On the other hand, the Electoral College gives large swing states and small states a disproportionate influence in electing the President.
Should the Electoral College be replaced? State and justify your opinion.

It seems wrong when you consider that the President can be elected without winning the popular vote. I feel like the Electoral College should be replaced to just having the popular vote. It seems fair to do it this way than the other way. It is hard to believe that you can loose a large state like Texas or California by 49%/51% split, just barely loosing, but then win several other states by 80% and have less Electoral College votes. Seems like maybe the Electoral College votes should possibly be reviewed and populations counted sooner than 10 years. Possibly every 4 years to coincide with when we vote for presidency. I did like watching the video where it spoke of a tie, which I am not sure we have had, but then the count goes to the US House of Representatives and each state gets 1 vote per state, even in the big states. I wasn't clear on that whole process, but sounded like a great way to end the tie.
