An 18 cm diameter circular

  1. An 18 cm diameter circular saw blade is switched on and reaches a roation frequency of 1500 rpm in 0.35 seconds. Caculate the following:

a. the angular acceleration experienced by the fan blades

b. the number of rotations it takes the blade to come up to speed

c. the tangential velocity of the edge of the blade when the saw is at speed

2. The rotational inertial of a figure skater is 5.2 kgm2 with his arms extended and 1.8 kgm2 with his arms drawn to the center of his body. He iis to rotate at 4.0 revolutions per second at the end of the spin(with arms drawn in). Calculate the following:

a. The frequency at which he must rotate at the beginning of the spin(with arms extended)

b.) the change in roational kinetic energy during the spin
