Â
The Sample like:
(1)Â Â Â Â Describe how Eratosthenes measured the size of the Earth
Eratosthenes measured the size of the Earth on June 22 at noon, he did so by measuring a shadow cast. That shadow cast was of a 1/50 of a circle, he concluded that the distance between Alexandria and Syene was 1/50 circumference of the earth. Making the earth's circumference 250,000 stadia. (Pg.4)
(2)Â Â Â Â Give an example of Inertia in your practical life
An example of Inertia could be a soccer ball rolling down a hill. Which will not stop unless friction or force stops it. A force could be someone literally stopping the ball.
(3)Â Â Â Â Briefly describe how Aristarchus measured the size of the moon
Aristarchus waited for an eclipse to occur to measure the size of the moon. He used the shadow that was casted, to determine that it was 2.5 moon diameters. Including Earth's ray the moon is 1/3.5 that of the Earth's. (Pg.5)
(4)Â Â Â Â How would you define acceleration?
Acceleration is the rate at which speed changes. It does not necessarily have to be an increase in speed it could also be a decrease.
(5)Â Â Â Â How the distance of the Sun was measured by Aristarchus?
Aristarchus waited for a half moon, he then noticed that the sunlight created lights that formed a right triangle. He then continued to use the rule of trigonometry to his benefit. He concluded that the sun was 20 times further away than the moon. (Pg. 6-7)

New kind of 'tan in a bottle' may one day protect against skin cancer
This article really caught my attention because I love to tan, I switched to tanning lotions a few years ago thinking they weren't damaging my skin but I guess I was wrong. This new tanning lotion says that it will give light skin people an awesome tan without any damage to their skin. Instead it states that it protects their skin from UV rays and causes less damage to skin cells. Although this pigmentation-stimulating drug protects from UV rays scientists still recommend it being mixed with sunscreen, which sound even better because you will be extra protected. This products sound too good to be true but we will see if they release it.
