The Concept & Reaction :Assume your audience for these papers is someone who knows nothing about the topic you are writing about and is coming to your essay to learn about it. Your purpose, then, is to purely explain. As such, you want your writing to be as clear and concise as possible. This means you should avoid using the first person pronouns: I, me, we, us. You should be sure to use in-text citations and include a reference list. SOURCES.
The concept portion should include a summarization of the article; the reaction is just that -- your reaction, including thoughts, questions, criticisms, opinions, etc. about the article. briefly and concisely summarize the major findings and concepts of the author. Be sure that you back up your opinions with facts and research. You may use your book or additional sources--just be sure to cite them. In the “Reaction” section of your paper explain why you chose the article that you did. write the reactions, comments, criticisms, that you have etc. and of the author's findings and/or conclusions. Consider what you have discovered in your examination of your topic, and what directions you think would be helpful for future theory and research in the field of human sexuality. In other words, in this section you are to respond to the material presented in the summary, not just restate it. After you have completed the C&R sections of your paper.
