Help with ethics and moral

Here's what Sam Harris (who also believes we shouldn't lie) has to say about the absolute commitment to the truth:


"Though Never tell a lie has the obvious virtue of clarity, in practice the rule can produce behavior that only a psychopath might endorse". He goes on: "If you think it can ever be appropriate to injure or kill a person in self-defense, or in defense of another, it makes no sense to rule out lying in the same circumstance" (p. 28-29).
