Ways of speaking are ways of being creative—of taking chances--of gambling—of getting to new places—of finding paths heretofore unexplored—of talking ourselves into new visions—of coping with life's copious complexities. (Uh oh) By the way, repeating "of" at the beginning of successive clauses is a way of rhetorically scheming—does anybody know the name of the scheme? How about "copious complexities"? What's that?
Let's discuss my assertion that there are rhetorical techniques that are not only about creating speeches, but may also be used to gain insight—that one may "speak in order to think" rather than "think in order to speak." Maybe that's the function of this discussion?
