Poor health is a group of people that can still advocate for themselves in terms of their health

Please do a paragraph about this post with this instruction .

post most have  4 or more  sentences .

you also have to have a high quality post from a content perspective. This means it also needs to do more than agree with or praise a class mate. If you agree with a classmate, explain why, give an example, share what you learned in the readings

A group at risk for poor health is a group of people that can still advocate for themselves in terms of their health. An example is being diabetic, these group of people may have the money to manage their health and even change their health habit when it comes to diet and also exercising but for one reason or another they don’t comply.

Vulnerable population on the other hand are group of people that enjoy lesser legal, social or policy protection which limit their ability to access or use health care services, and these group of people are more likely to develop health-related problems. In every society, there are individuals and population groups who are more vulnerable than others to come to harm. For instance, to become sick or to experience poverty and social rejection. Generally, the very young, the elderly and people who are sick or live with a disability are especially vulnerable in every society. In some societies, women, ethnic or religious minorities, migrants or other groups can also be especially vulnerable to abuse, discrimination and even hatred. Often, it is not so much the actual composition of a particular population that makes it more vulnerable, but rather how that population is regarded by others, for example by their local community, society, at political level or by the business sector. For that reason a population who is vulnerable in one country, could be well protected in another. For example vulnerability to HIV is a result of a combination of factors, including more personal circumstances such as age, social mobility, education, gender identity, social and cultural norms etc… but also, crucially, the environment in which an individual lives such as poverty, gender discrimination or lack or inadequacy of services. In some cultures, girls and women face strong social pressures that can render them vulnerable to HIV. I was watching a video on the internet some days ago about an African country where teenage girls are subjected to have sex with a particular man before they are introduced into adolescent hood. For the cultural practice to be fulfilled, the man said he sleeps with more than 20 girls a day and condom is not allowed by the culture and he also admitted that he is positive for HIV.

The members of the vulnerable group that I just mentioned don’t have any way to advocate for themselves as they must live with their parents and abide by the social and cultural norms. Also these children may belong to parents who have no education and don’t understand the importance of health and even what unprotected sexual intercourse is all about.

Advocating for this group of teenage girls would be very beneficial in the sense that it will help reduce the spread of HIV and this can be achieved by liaising with the government of such country to help implement a law that will abolish such inhumane culture. By so doing, the health of these children would be improved both psychologically and otherwise.
