LAB6B:Annotated Bibliography& MLA
PARTI:TASK
Please complete the following:
1. Please review the PowerPoint presentation on Annotated Bibliography before starting the assignment.
2. Investigate a topic of your choice and be sure to choose something you are really interested in.
3. Find 3 articles on your topic using one or more of the following databases: Academic Search Premier, Discovery, LexisNexis Academic and/or Opposing Viewpoints in Context.
4. Using Microsoft Word, prepare an annotated bibliography about your one topic using the 3 articles you selected from the databases listed above.
a. Go to the MCC Library Home Page. Click on “Web Sites by Subject” on the left side of the screen.
b. Click on Citing Sources, then click on Annotated Bibliographies. Information is provided on preparing an annotated bibliography.
5. Your annotated bibliography can either be a summary or assessment (4 to 5 complete sentences) of each of the 3 articles you have selected.
a. The Annotated Bibliography paper you turn in covering your one topic will have three citations each followed by an annotation. Each annotation will be either a summary of the article cited or an assessment of the article cited.
6. You may generate your 3 citations using NoodleTools Express (refer to NoodleTools Express handout).
7. You may not generate your 3 annotations by copying and pasting the summary material that some databases provide for articles. You must write your own annotations.
8. Format the annotated bibliography with the proper MLA style (7th Edition).
a. Please refer to of the 6_Annotated Bibliography PowerPoint presentation on how to format an annotated bibliography in the MLA style.
9. Spell check and resave the file as LastName_Lab6B document.
10. Attach the completed annotated bibliography and submit.
