i need answer this

Purpose:

Too often general education courses like introduction to sociology require students to learn a considerable amount of material relating to the discipline while making the tacit assumption that students will make the connection between sociological thinking and their everyday lives. Therefore, this assignment has at least a tri-fold purpose:

(1) serves as an explicit attempt for students to integrate sociological thinking with future career aspirations;

(2) aims to further develop critical thinking skills and college-level writing mechanics; (3) encourages creative thinking.

Instructions:

First, the paper will have a sociological context that includes at least one major concept or idea from the course thus far (e.g. sociological imagination, one of the three theoretical perspectives, culture, socialization, etc.).

Second, the paper will integrate one sociological concept (as noted above), of your choosing, with the student’s major course of study or career field.

Address these cognitive primers:

  • Primary Question: What is the importance and/or impact of this aspect of sociology to my major/academic discipline or career?
  • What is your major course of study training you to do? (skills)
  • How is your major course of study preparing you to demonstrate these skills in the workplace? (procedures & protocols)
  • How and where do you hope to apply your acquired knowledge within the workplace? (applied knowledge)
  • How are your professors training you to think? (theories, methods, cognitive framing)
  • What kind of organization and/or people is your program of study preparing you to work with/for/against? (relationships - constituents, co-workers, customers, etc.)
  • What is the structure of your major course of study and/or career field? Why are they structured in this way? (organizationally, institutionally, etc.)

Additional responses may address the following:

How can I further integrate this aspect of sociology with my major?

What are potential positive and negative aspects of sociology as it relates to my major?

Guidelines:

  1. The paper will be a minimum of five pages but can be longer if you desire. Longer papers are not necessarily better papers. Use as many words as necessary to communicate your message well.
  2. Include a cover page (see a template on Blackboard).
  3. Double-spaced with 12-point Times New Roman or Arial font.
  4. Page numbers bottom center of each page
  5. 1-inch margins
  6. Papers will have clarity, concision, and cohesion [proof-read, revise, proofread, and revise again].
  7. Failure to meet these requirements will result in point reductions.

Enjoy thinking, analyzing, and writing your paper! I look forward to reading them.
