Craigslist Project
Use Craigslist website to research the correlation between the advertised price of a
car and the mileage of that car.
To control all other factors, narrow your search to a SPECIFIC make/model and
specific year.
Use at least 30 cars!!!!!!!
Examples: Honda Civic 2010, or ford fusion 2012.
Your report MUST be typed in a word document. It must include;
1) A short description of your project including the make, model, and model
year of the car you researched.
Example 1: Honda Civic 2013.
Example 2: Ford fusion 2012. 2) List of data collected (Mileage and price) in a table.
3) Identify the explanatory variable (x) and the response variable (y) based on
your selection.
4) Using StatCrunch,
a) Create a summary stats, then copy from StatCrunch and paste into the
word document.
b) Find the regression equation, r, and r2 , then copy and from Statcrunch
and paste into the word document.
c) Create a scatterplot, then copy into word document.
5) Based on r , r2 , and the scatterplot, Comment on the form, direction, and
strength of the prediction equation.
6) Predict the price of a car with 35,000 miles and 77,000 miles using your
equation if possible. Project 2 Name: ______________________________
