chain of command, writing homework help

Please do a paragraph about this post with this instruction .

post most have 4 or more sentences .

you also have to have a high quality post from a content perspective. This means it also needs to do more than agree with or praise a class mate. If you agree with a classmate, explain why, give an example, share what you learned in the readings, ask questions of each other, etc Advocacy is known to support a cause or proposal in an institution versus an advocate is to support, defend and have interest of others (Tomajan, 2012). In healthcare advocacy involves a “chain of command” which include system’s policy (Tomajan, 2012). Per the ANA nurses role in advocacy consist of teaching, mentoring, engagement and peer reviews. The nurses need to follow the appropriate chain of commands in healthcare when addressing concerns (Tomajan, 2012).

The American Nurses Association (2012) stated that “advocacy” is defined as the “act or process of supporting a cause or proposal” and an advocate is one that “pleads, defends, or supports a cause or interest of another” (ANA, 2012). ANA (2012) further discusses the different advocacy strategies. Problem solving, communication, influence and collaboration.

In order to provide strategies to help make changes in our department it is important to use communication, problem solving, collaboration and influence skills, to be able to achieve positive outcomes (Tomajan, 2012).

Strategies that can be used to create change in workplace are shared governance and workplace advocacy. Shared governance is an effective strategy for enhancing autonomy and providing avenues for nurses to gain control over their practice (Common Denominators: Shared Governance and Work Place Advocacy- Strategies for Nurses to Gain Control over their Practice). It is used by the nurses to advocate and manage their professional role. SG is used by nurses to express and manage their practice with a higher level of professional autonomy. Most organizations use SG to create partnership between the organizations and the nurses. This approach fosters organizational environment where professional accountability is respected and encouraged. This strategic is used within the organization (Micro level). While Workplace advocacy operates at the organizational, local, state and national levels {macro level} to equip nurses to skilling influence patient care and their workplace.

The hospital that I work at we have a shared governance group that meets monthly. This group discuss problems we face while providing care to our patients. They discuss possible solutions and create plans that are further presented to the high management. In this meeting we include representatives of respiratory and pharmacy departments. We also include nurse techs and a representative from management. The solutions and plans we create, provide a platform for change and growth. We also advocate for nurses and nurse techs regarding safety in the workplace. We have made incredible changes thanks to the plans created in our shared governance. The most recent is regarding the qualification of stable patient, report from the ER, and the transfer of patient on Nitro drip to ICU status
