Personal Leadership Style

Write a response to the attached discussion post, and make sure you cite the reference within your response, utilizing APA format.

The leadership styles and characteristics that were found most dominant are Servant, Transformational, Contingency, Trait, Charismatic, and Transactional.  My true most dominant leadership style is servant.  I can attest to the fact that I believe in pushing people to meet their goals.  If I am a leader who has the potential to empower and motivate employees while being empathetic to their needs, then I am best able to nurture and build their character.  I am a firm believer that when your people start to fall, it is your utmost duty to be underneath them to help them get back up and going.

Per the assessment my second leadership style is being a transformational leader.  I am very firm in presenting my staff with my expectations and inform them of how to complete their duties appropriately.  McCleskey (2014) expressed that transformational leaders are individuals who ensures that their employees receive quality understanding of what is expected and helps them to reach their goals.  I am a fervent believer that one should speak to a person and find out where they are having issues or why they no longer perform in a certain manner.  I am a bit territorial because I am the head (mother) of the group and my employees are my babies.  You must protect your young and I am more of a protector and nurturer because I care about each of their well-being.

As the leader, it is my responsibility to show that I am an example of how we should act, speak, and complete our daily tasks.  We have to lead by example and we have a choice to improve and encourage all individuals.  This assessment could be used to transform me into a more charismatic person who does not allow everyone else problems transform themselves into my life.
