Learning Activity 8
Systems-thinking is a decision making theory that helps organizations change and adapt. It views an organization as one system with complex, connecting, interacting components, continually exchanging feedback between the parts and systems to ensure each remains aligned with the goals of the business.
Management theory in most organizations today is still based on Fayol’s Four Pillars of Management; but we have learned that the 21st century manager mustcombine the Four Pillars with contemporary management theories to survive this century’s fluid, dynamic business environment and create a competitive edge.
Reflect on your readings, discussion and learning assignments over the past seven weeks in this class, and then base your comments in this final learning activity on this week’s readings in Module 8 to debate the following question:
“Systems Thinking and Agile Management are the answer to creating a facile and competitive business organization.”
