a Bible and the book, Desire of Ages.

Lesson 2 Journal # 3: Desire of Ages & Gospels

Assignment

Spending personal time with Jesus is more than just recognizing His existence, it is about taking the needed time to be in His presence. Keeping a spiritual journal is a simple way to record your thoughts, convictions, and prayers when spending time with God.

For this assignment, you will need a Bible and the book, Desire of Ages. The book is available free online by clicking the following link.

Your Task

  1. Each day you will spend some time with Jesus just to connect with Him.
  2. Read: During the week of July 10 to July 16, you will read chapters 15 to 21 of Desire of Ages (DA) and one passage you have personally selected from the Gospels. You are NOT required to read every page from DA however, your journal should be based on reflections from the chapters assigned. Read the Desire of Ages four days a week, and one passage from the Gospels the remaining day.
  3. Write: You will write at least one sentence for each weekday, sharing what has been meaningful to you during your time with Jesus and the reading. Make sure your journal includes the following details:
    • Give the date.
    • Provide the chapter number of DA or the Bible passage that you read.
    • Then write in 1-2 sentences what was meaningful in that chapter or passage.
  4. Submit: Turn this in every week. This is an important part of this class. To submit this assignment:
    • Write the entire journal following the details in point number three above (date, provide chapter and write 1-2 sentences.)
    • Save your document in a .doc or .docx file format
