Please respond to the discussion post in the attached document. The writer was asked to describe her experience with people with disabilities. Please respond with 100% originality.

Unlike most of the responses I have read, I am still in school and haven't had very many experiences working with individuals with disabilities.  I do, however, remember in high school that I had a gym class with individuals with disabilities.  Their disabilities ranged from sever autism to down syndrome.  I remember the young man who had autism would not speak to where you could understand him, but he would sort of grunt, especially when he was excited.  It was the most eye opening experience for me to have a gym class with all of them.  I became friends with so many great individuals with amazing spirits.  I would get so excited about gym class.  Interacting with these individuals taught me a life lesson: It's important to get to know someone before you make assumptions about who they are and what they are capable of.

My daughter is consider disabled,  I'm not sure if she actually is.  She has Type 1 diabetes, and according to chapter 1 of our book, health conditions are considered disabilities.  So I have an ample amount of experience with caring for her.  I check her sugar and administer shots for her everyday.  She is just 3 and has had diabetes since she was 9 months old.  Diabetes is an ongoing fight to manage an individuals sugar levels.  It can be scary at times, as well as disheartening, but it doesn't limit Finley in the least bit.
