The Acme Auto Repair Shop database

Scenario

An auto shop wants to be able to track all the car repairs done in its shop.  You are asked to create a database that will allow them to track the following:  what repair was completed, which mechanic worked on it, what car was repaired, who it belonged to, and the amount of each repair completed.

 

Using the attached spreadsheet and the following business rules, complete a Crow's Foot ERD with all tables in 3NF.

 

Business Rules

1. A customer can own many cars.
2. A car is associated with only one household.
3. A car can be brought into the shop by any member of the household
4. A customer is a member of only one household, but a household can have many customers living in it (think of a family with a mom, dad, and kids)
5. A car can be brought in many time to be repaired.
6. A car repair ticket is created for only one problem per car.
7. A mechanic can work on many repairs.
8. Only one mechanic can work on a repair.
9. A car repair ticket must include the contact number of the customer who brought the car in for repair.
10. Repair codes (problems) have a standard rate charged for each type of repair
