Scenario
You have started your own business in a traditional brick-and-mortar facility
and you need to develop a website. The website will be developed in stages.
Each assignment represents an upgrade to your website.
Assignment 1
1. Create a website with three pages
a. Home page
b. Products or Services page
c. About us/Contact us page
d. Inline elements: the site must include a minimum of 10 of the
28 possible inline elements
e. Block-level elements, the site must include a minimum of 10 of
the 29 possible block-level elements
f. At least half of your included HTML elements must use
attributes (not including the style attribute)
g. At least half of your included HTML elements must use the
style attribute
2. Each page should include the following
a. <!doctype html> declaration using HTML5
b. Navigation for the entire website with functioning links
(<link>)
c. <head> section that implements the <title> element
d. <body> section
3. The website should include relevant information such as
a. Block level tag elements describing the Website (heading,
paragraph, blockquote, div, address, etc…)
b. The company’s name, address, city, state, zip, phone number(s),
fax number, point of contact, hours of operation (pseudo
information is okay)
c. Display a list (<ul>, <ol>, or <dl>) of the services or products
your company offers
d. Images of products or services offered (<img>)
e. A video
f. Inline elements (image, bold, italics, etc…) 4. Comments as necessary; recommend commenting the different pages
and section of the website also include author name and date
developed
5. The directory structure of the website must be in good form:
a. Parent folder of the website has the index.html file only
b. An html folder for all other pages of the site
c. An images folder for all images
d. Pathing must be relative not absolute
6. Submit the assignment in a compressed format that includes all
resources (.zip, .tgz, .tar, etc…)
