Recently, in the United States, we have heard that those who perpetrate violent acts
against America are evil and diabolical. To be sure, some of the results of their acts
have been evil and diabolical. Innocent people have died. However, how might a
thorough-going social psychologist respond to the claim that those who perpetrate
these acts are inherently evil, diabolical people?
