Throughout the process of writing both of these sections, you have no doubt gained a better understanding of the controversy you are exploring in your argumentative research essay. You probably have a better sense of your argument, your opposing audience, and what you would like your points to be for your body paragraphs.

Consider what you have experienced over the last few units and discuss in what ways your research project has changed and/or remained the same. Why? Include in your initial discussion posting a brief summary of the debate surrounding your research subject, and share whether or not your argumentative thesis has changed, stating what your current argument is, and why you felt strongly enough to engage in a debate on your subject.
