The reading material says that contingent workers are called in to cover when other employees are out of the office for vacation, sick leave, etc... This could pose a problem if the temporary employee is a better worker than the full-time employee. The employer may want to have the temp employee as full-time if only the other employee wasn't still employed. Full-time employees could lose their jobs to the temporary workers after a time.
Another thing that could pose problems is with the temp employees it would prevent the full-time employees the opportunity to work overtime. They may feel they are taking money away from them.
