The research paper for this course is a 5–7-page paper studying an active faith-based interest group in detail. For this assignment, you will compose a thesis statement and a brief outline in current Turabian format based on your selected interest group for the Research Paper – Final Submission.
The assignment must be 2–3 pages and must include a at least 7 references that you will use for your final paper. Your thesis statement must be 1 full paragraph, and your outline must be in proper outline format (i.e., proper headings and subheadings, etc.). A proper outline must be detailed enough to provide a foundation for your final research paper.
A few suggested faith-based interest groups you could study are listed below. This is not a comprehensive list, and you are encouraged to research faith-based interest groups and select one of most interest to you. If you have any questions about the suitability of a different group, contact your instructor.
·     Family Research Council
·     Christian Coalition
·     Traditional Values Coalition
·     American Family Association
·     Christian Action Network
Take into account that your Research Paper – Final Submission must:
·     Discuss the history of the faith-based group you have chosen;
·     Discuss the group’s stated purpose, philosophy, and techniques of operation;
·     Discuss the biblical foundations for the group’s purpose and activities;
·     Address the group’s activities at the national, state, and local level;
·     Address the group’s current legislative agenda (i.e., specific legislation or government activities that the group is currently working on);
·     Assess the group’s overall effectiveness, giving examples from their recent activities to support your assessment; and
·     Provide recommendations based on the course readings of potential ways in which the group could improve their effectiveness.
