Prepare: Identifying your interests and values can help you choose a career that is meaningful and satisfying for you. To gain more insight into your interest and values, our Career Services department offers a personality assessment called TypeFocus. To complete this discussion, do the following:

Reflect: Use your Typefocus results (the directions to take the assessment are listed under the Typefocus Assessment tab in Week 4). See Step 1 (Self-Assessments), and read through the results in the interests and values categories. Then, click to open up the Assessment Results in Step 2 (Explore Occupations) and select “Education Needed: Four Year Degree.” From the list of occupations identify three careers that are a good fit for you (indicated by the most checkmarks). Note that they are listed in alphabetical order so you may need to scroll down to review all possible careers. Think about how these careers support your interests and values.

Write: Using the information you obtained from your TypeFocus results, complete the following:

• From the three careers listed as being a good fit for your interests and values, identify one that appeals to you the most. You may also choose a different career if it is not listed in the results. Explain your choice.
• In your own words, describe your top three interests, and explain how the career you selected would support these interests.
• In your own words, describe your top three values, and explain how the career you selected would align with them.

Your initial post should contain a minimum of 250 words and be written in complete sentences.
