Feedback from teachers can be given in many ways but in my opinion you must remain
as positive as possible to get the most out of your students. I will be as specific as possible with my students. I will provide my students with specific information as to what they are doing right
and wrong. I will tell my students exactly what they did right and wrong. Telling them things
like “great job” is not specific enough to let them know what they did well. According to
Marianne Stenger of Edutopia suggests taking the time to provide learners with information on
what exactly they did well, and what may still need improvement. She also notes that it can be
helpful to tell the learner what he is doing differently than before.(Stenger, 2014).
I will also give feedback to the assessment quickly. I think that the sooner the grade of an
assessment is given back to the students the fresher it is in their mind. If you wait too long
students will forget about the test and their recollection of things they struggled with will not be
as fresh in their mind. Marianne Stenger of Edutopia states that there are numerous studies that
have been done that feedback is most effective when it is given immediately, rather than a few
days, weeks, or months down the line.(Stenger, 2014). References
