Where do we see elements of theatre and performance in real life?

Where do we see elements of theatre and performance in real life? This requires some thinking outside the box, but once we do so, a lot of aspects we have learned translate to life experiences that are never conventionally regarded as theatrical. Consider these ideas:

  • When and where do you perform (or see others perform) every day?
  • What could be considered as a stage if we expand the definition?
  • During work and home times, what theatre elements do you encounter? Are there actors, directors, producers, set designers, and audience members in your life?
  • Do you see influences or connections with the PURPOSE of a theatre style (such as didacticism or pageant plays) and the purpose of an event or tradition from life?
  • What other connections can you make between what we have learned and the way we live today?

Please write one to two paragraphs exploring THREE or more ideas about the intersection of theatre and life. I encourage you to find examples that are subjective and unique to you: if you are interning as a nurse or raising a toddler or on a softball league, take those aspects and find parallels with the world of theatre and performance.
