Week 2 Discussion (Practicing responses)

Choose which article you plan to use for your Response Essay either Kiefer's or Postman's. Carefully read over the text. The following video will help you as you consider the Response Essay as well as this assignment:

Response Essay--WRTG 291.

Task: Write a 3 short responses to the article you've chosen for the Response Essay.

Objective: Practice writing responses to academic writing.

Using the following steps, choose a short section of the text and respond to it below. Remember to keep your responses honest, connected to the text, and clearly explained.

1.The first step asks you to recognize an idea that strikes you within your reading. Write a phrase describing that idea, sentence, or passage. Remember to mark the original passage so you know what sparked your idea.

2. Write two sentences explaining how the idea that you've noted relates to what is happening or being said in this section of the text.

3. Write two sentences explaining what in your own experience you can associate with what is being said in the quote.
