What does inerrancy mean?

A short writing assignment will be due in Module/Week 3 requiring you to differentiate between inspiration and inerrancy and their relation to each other as held by evangelical Christianity. This will be a 4-page analysis responding to the questions below.

When writing your essay use the following questions as a guide:

What does inspiration mean?

What is the common view of inspiration and inerrancy among evangelical Christians? Do you agree why or why not?

Does inspiration necessitate inerrancy? Why or why not? (In other words, if Scripture is ‘inspired’ does this mean that it is necessarily ‘inerrant’? The answer to this question will be developed by the definitions assigned to both terms in your essay).

You must support your answers to these questions with scholarly, reliable sources. When writing the essay, rely heavily on your course reading and videos. Of course, use Scripture, but be careful not to be guilty of the fallacy of circular reasoning. One example would be that the Bible is inspired because it says it is (2 Tim. 3:16).

The paper is to be 4 pages in length (typed, double-spaced, Times New Roman, 12-point font, and current Turabian formatting). You are to have a minimum of 3 sources for your paper, only 1 of which can be an internet source (Wikipedia does not count!).

Please Answer ALL the questions in the required format.
