Jazz-Rock Fusion

Read the article about jazz-rock and jazz-fusion.  Many artists are mentioned and you are encouraged to look into them for your own edification but for purposes of this class, we will focus on how this reading explores the then novel idea mixing jazz and rock music.

Focus also on the explanation of Soft Machine and Miles Davis; artists who in the case of the Soft Machine were a rock band who adapted jazz music and in the case of Miles Davis was a jazz musician who adapted rock music.  Listen to an example from each musician, make some observations about each track and then try and compare them.  As usual pick a few of the bullet points for each song and answer them.
