In this week's assignment, you will develop your own personal and professional goals and create action plans to support them.
Goal setting, along with developing action plans to support the goals, is a basic success strategy. Here you are being asked to refine a process you may have already begun.
Consider entering more than one goal and accompanying action plan in each category. The following examples are the sample goals of a recent graduate entering the retail field.
Before writing down your goals, consult the section “Guidelines for Goal Setting”, pages 72 – 73. If you are not currently employed, set up hypothetical goals and action plans for a future job.
Read the Applying Human Relations Exercise 3-1, titled, “Goal-Setting and Action Plan Worksheet,” on page 85 of your textbook.
Create a 1-2 page list of goals and supporting action plans, divided into long-range goals (beyond five years), medium-range goals (two to five years), and short-range goals (within two years).
The following is an example of how to complete each range:
Long-Range Goals (Beyond Five Years)
Medium-Range Goals (Two to Five Years)
Short-Range Goals (Within Two Years)
Save your document with a file name that includes your name, course code and section number, and assignment title.
