The partisan election process unfortunately is not demeaning to judges and casts but over their impartiality the empirical evidence that shows that the selection process can often becomes a captive to interest of the lawyers in their trial bar. These plaintiffs lawyers generally become disappointed within their finical contributors to campaign elections. so yes they should play a major role in judicial appointments and because appointments reduce the roles that are irrelevant criteria the chance will soon play in the selection of judges. The merit based system  should not not favor only those with money and connections because it can be threatened, what the can do is promote money to be raised for campaigns.
