Some of the factors that influences a student's comprehension of texts are; decoding of words, motivation, and eyesight. First, decoding of words is when a student break down the word for pronunciation. Not being able to decode words will effect the students comprehension of texts. The students that have a hard time sounding out words will have poor comprehension skills. Second, motivation is having the excitement and enthusiasm to read consistently. The lack of motivation will discourage the student from reading. Lastly, a student with poor eyesight will have a hard time seeing the words to read from the book. The comprehension will be low for a student with poor eyesight because of not being able to see the words from the book.
