Directions: Choose ONE of the following topics and write a 2-3 page, double-spaced, typed essay. If you use refereed secondary sources, you need to cite using MLA format. You must use two or three different stories that we have read in your essay. You may NOT write about stories read in other classes, movies, TV programs, cartoons, etc.

1. Review the section on Narration/Point of View and see the OWL site as well. Then, discuss in your essay the point-of-view/narrative technique, why it is used, how it is used, and whether it is effective or not.

2. Compare and contrast two characters from two stories we have read. The stories may be by the same author or two different authors.

3. Characterization is how an authors shows/develops a character or characters. Discuss the characterization of one protagonist and one antagonist in one or two stories we have read.
