There are many forms that a teacher can promote literacy in the classroom. The teacher can have a well-organized library of book from different genres and levels. Designate an area where students can read for instance, comfy area with pillows or cozy chairs makes it enjoyable. Also, use the class walls to display literacy such as charts, posters, word walls and student work. Technology can promote reading in class like having computers, iPads, and e-reader’s connections with today’s generation and engage them to read. Lastly, visuals are exceptional for students to make a connection with vocabulary words as the learner is able to link to the image if not able to directly to the word.
