Now that you have spent some time reviewing the basics of effective writing, write an essay that explores your own history as a writer. As you approach your pre-writing, brainstorm about your insecurities as a writer, about the most frequent errors you make and what you have done to overcome those, and about the major writing assignments/projects you have done in your life. Put into practice the suggestions in the video lecture about a motivator, thesis, blueprint, well-developed body that follows the blueprint (verbal outline) and ends with a conclusion that includes a restated thesis and a turnaround. This essay should be a between 1000 and 1500 words. Ask a friend or mentor to read your essay carefully and make suggestions to strengthen it.
