The due date for the Final Exam is 12/12/2016 11:59 pm. It must be submitted through the “Final
Exam” in Dropbox provided in the eCollege. It is opened-book, opened-note, opened-Internet, but not
opened-friends or neighbor. It means that you have to do this exam by your own. You can use Internet
to check your syntax, but cannot ask anyone to do the exam for you. If the final exam is not done by
you, you will get 0.
It is important that you specify your name in the assignment document/attachment. The attachment
name should follow the following convention: BUSA526_FINALEXAM_FIRSTNAME_LASTNAME.SQL
Import the final exam data code and use the following logical schema to answer only 14 questions
below. Note: I only grade your first 14 questions, and there is no bonus if you answer all questions. Also,
make sure to leave comments/notes for me to know which questions you want to address. All
questions have to be answered within one SQL command. (100 points total: 7 points each question,
and free 2 points for everyone). 1. Show student first name, last name, major, and full address (return total 4 columns)
2. Show staff first name, last name, and salary of who get hired after Dec 1992 (return total 3
columns)
3. Display subject, department name which offers that subject, category of that subject, and
professor’s first name and last name who taught that subject (return total 5 columns)
4. Show student first name, last name, major, and month of birth in alphabet (return total 4
columns). Must use techniques taught in class. No credit given if you use advanced techniques.
5. Show all information of professor who taught the most classes.
6. Select staff first name, last name, salary, and total commission received (return total 4 columns).
Each staff get $3000 commission for one class he/she taught.
7. What is the most popular major?
8. Select all information of class(es) that has the top 2 highest numbers of students. Must use
techniques taught in class. No credit given if you use advanced techniques (e.g, LIMIT).
9. Show all info of female students who took more morning Monday class(es) than afternoon
Monday class(es).
10. Return student first name, last name, his/her second highest grade, and subject of the class that
he/she earned (return total 4 columns). Must use techniques taught in class. No credit given if
you use advanced techniques (e.g, LIMIT).
11. Do we have more students who are single than who are married? Must return ‘Yes’ or ‘No’.
12. For each students, display currently taking classes that has the latest start time.
13. Find the most common subject(s) that are taken by students
14. Who is/are professor(s) the most recent hired? Must use techniques taught in class. No credit
given if you use advanced techniques.
15. Find classroom(s) that do not fill out half of its capacity per classes.
16. Find student(s) who got highest GPA for each classes. Must indicate ‘Best Student’ in one of the
returned columns for that student(s) The following criteria will be used to grade the midterm: Diagrams are detailed, accurate, and SQL answers are correct. ***************************NOTE *************************************
