Women in Power –Maggie Gill

Talk of women in power and Maggie Gill cannot miss in the conversation. She has been one of the prominent women in the world who has held top positions in one of the most significant industries, the medical sector. Maggie has been able to achieve this success through her hard work, dedication and commitment. She is very passionate about health and in particular medical issues.

Maggie Gill joined Memorial University Medical Center (MUMC) in 2004, and then she was serving as the Vice President of the Finance and the Managed care. Maggie has been an inspiration to many women in the world, and through her continuous efforts, she has been climbing the career leader since her position as the Vice President. In 2005 she held the position of the Chief Operating Offi8cer and in 2011 she was appointed the Chief Executive Officer of Memorial Health.

Ms. Gill has been responsible for providing leadership in all her positions; she has been mentoring Vice Presidents, Senior Vice Presidents as well as physician leaders at Memorial University Medical Center. Her passion for helping others does not make her rest until she releases better services in the medical institutions. Maggie is also accountable for physicians’ relations, government relations, internal audit, orthopedic and neuroscience programs, and corporate communications among many others.

 Before Ms. Gill joined Memorial University Medical Center, she served at Tenet South Florida Health System as the Chief Financial Officer for five years. During her services at the medical institution, Gill portrayed excellent leadership skills, and she received the award for the most outstanding Chief Financial Officer three times. She worked in several hospitals as she was working at Tenet including North Shore Medical Center in Miami, Coral Gables Hospital in Coral Gables, Fla, and Palmetto General Hospital in Hialeah, Fla. Maggie Gill studied at Florida State University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree, and earned her MBA graduated with honors from the Saint Leo University in Florida. Ms. Gill has also completed course work at Wharton School where she specialized in strategic thinking and management.

Medical beneficiaries in Southeast Georgia and South Carolina lowcounty can now enjoy the new medical plan option which is now available and was opened this year during the open enrollment period.
