In order to determine the best social network platform, I researched how many users were on
Facebook. According to the article by Daniel Sparks, "Facebook will reach 2 billion monthly
active users in 2017 and it is the number one social media site being used." After seeing the
numbers and being familiar with this social media platform, I chose Facebook to use during the
development of my personal brand.
I will combine that platform with blogging by posting a blog on my profile wall to be added into
the news feed for followers to see. Blogging on Facebook is easy to view and allow blogs to be
resposted. I can also combine Facebook with blogging and social networks by creating a separate
group or fan page to allow users to receive updates on blogs that are being posted to further
promote my personal brand. The beneficial part of using Facebook is that it allows me to include
links to twitter and Instagram which ultimately connects various social media sites to each other
being that some users do not have all three. This will allow my brand to reach out to more people
and successfully promote myself to many users.
The greatest challenge of doing this through social media rather than is person would be the
misinterpretation of a messages tone because people tend to interpret messages differently which
is why it is better to directly communicate in person. The other challenge would be sending and
presenting an abundant amount of information in minimal words since social media users may
not always read everything that is posted on a blog.
My goals for using Facebook are to communicate messages in an effective way and to make my
personal brand appealing. My goal is to use Facebook to blog and post videos which will allow
verbal and written communication. My other goal is to promote my brand to users in a creative
way so that it will catch readers interest.

Developing my brand will be in a tiered approach. Much of my social media marketing in the
beginning will be on Twitter and LinkedIn. These two will be my primary means of reaching
people, I am in a market where I as an individual cannot compete with larger companies. My
field is Finical Services. Meryl Lynch and other such companies have instant brand recognition. I
will have to constantly understand where I stand versus larger companies. I also have example of
people being successful in my field using these applications. The next Tier will be implemented
once I amore established and have developed a clientele. Then I will use YouTube and Facebook.
They will be used to provide explanations and solutions coming from my face. I will use
Facebook to show that my brand is family friendly. The entire time I will have emails that I will
send to clients and potential client.
My greatest challenge is to not cheapen myself by over exposing myself on social media. I have
to have a message or it will quickly be viewed as spam or "one of those things". As I stated
before I can not personally compete with large companies. This will be avoided completely, more
to make myself more relatable to the average family.
