How important is it to have positive people around you during work?

Positive relationships create positive energy. Positive energy means people perform better, think clearer, more energy, and promotes teamwork within the workplace. The book adds having positive relationships at work strengthens the immune system, cardiovascular system, and the hormonal system. People feel better and work harder during the workday due to the being able to concentrate on the task at hand. Negative relationships has the opposite effect and can cause undue stress and poor performance due to stress and lack of concentration or motivation. It seems that every office has the one or two disgruntled employees that make the work environment miserable. In my field of work positive energy and relationships among peers is very important due to the need for teamwork and collaboration needed for the workload. I think people feed off of one another and when the group has a great interpersonal relationship amongst each other than the positive energy creates a work environment that is productive and stress free.
