Problem Statement

In this study, I will focus on evaluating the how external factors affect the review of U.S Army standards and discipline in order to determine the independence of the U.S Army. Additionally, I will look into the issue of application of policy and discipline within the different ranks within the U.S Army in order to understand how policy and discipline applies differently to different ranking officers and Army personnel. In this case, the aspects of Army doctrine, Army policy, Army ranks as well as Army structure will be reviewed in order to understand the issues that surround the U.S Army standards and discipline.

 

Statement of Problem Focus

The research will utilize the exploratory approach of data collection which will assist in determining the best research design, data collection method as well as the selection of 30 soldiers (officers and enlisted) in my unit. This approach will also facilitate looking into 5 different policies thus project the data in terms of length of time in the army, gender and race. The 5 policy`s will also be utilized in evaluating the aspect of job satisfaction and retention. Additionally, I will focus on collecting and reviewing information from secondary sources such as books and websites as well as journals that look into the issues of U.S Army standards and discipline. Other than army discipline and standards, the research will focus on the role of external forces in guiding the review of army standards as well as discipline. Therefore, the research will utilize information from the current affairs and recent cases where the military has appeared to cave in to pressure from external parties thus changing the regulations and standards. As such, the study will cover a broad spectrum of issues revolving around the army standards and discipline.
